GIDM and CDHG Gujarat State join hands for Capacity Development on Disaster Risk Management (DRM) and Role of Youth and Volunteers for DRM

 

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Gujarat Institute of Disaster Management (GIDM) and Civil Defence and Home Guards (CDHG), Gujarat State on March 5, 2020.

The MoU focuses specifically on joint training services, strengthen training capacity, joint research activity, documentation and case study, advisory services on relevant matters and development and sharing of Disaster Risk Management (DRM) technical expertise through mutually identified means and modalities for enhancing community resilience by involving Youth and Volunteers.

Area of co-operation:

  • Capacity Building Activities on DRM and Role of Youth and Volunteers for DRM
  • Joint Development and Delivering of Prioritized Training Programmes on Role of Youth and Volunteers for Disaster Risk Management
  • Creating a cadre of Master Trainers who can drive on various capacity building activities of GIDM on the subject
  • Support and promote exchange of ideas, best practices, resources and expertise on various aspects, so as to empower our Youth and Volunteers for effective DRM, across the State.

The MoU was signed by Shri P.K. Taneja, Director General, GIDM and Shri T.S. Bisht, IPS, Director Civil Defence and Commandant General Home Guards, Gujarat State.
