In a world increasingly interconnected and characterized by unpredictability, the significance of disaster management and national security is paramount. Whether arising from natural occurrences or human activity, disasters possess the capacity to disrupt societal and economic structures, thereby posing substantial threats to national security. Consequently, there exists an imperative for individuals and professionals to acquire a thorough comprehension of disaster management and its intrinsic relationship with national security. Understanding the dire need, Gujarat Institute of Disaster Management (GIDM) in collaboration with School of Internal Security & Police Administration, Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), Gandhinagar launched a Three-Month Certificate Course in Disaster Risk Reduction and National Security (CCDRRNS). This certificate course serves as a pathway towards comprehending, addressing, and alleviating these risks.
The course will be conducted in a hybrid mode with Two (02) weeks of Contact Classes followed by Ten (10) Weeks of online education and once again capped by Two weeks (02) of Contact Classes including Examination. Methodology of teaching will be combination of Lectures, Discussions, Practical Exercises, Case Studies and Field Exposure during the contact period. Participants will have access to relevant literature and resources, both online and offline, to support their learning.
Upon successful completion of the course examination and the capstone project, student will receive joint certificate in Disaster Risk Reduction and National Security. This certificate will
