About GIDM
The Gujarat Institute of Disaster Management (GIDM) is registered as an autonomous society under the Government of Gujarat. The Institute has been entrusted with the responsibility of human resource development, capacity building, training, research and documentation in the field of Disaster Management. GIDM has received approval from DISH under Section 111-A (ii) of the Factories Act, 1948.
Why Build the Capacity ?
Gujarat, located in western India, is recognized as one of the most industrialized states in the country. Gujarat’s industrial growth across sectors such as petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, textiles, fertilizers, construction, and engineering has positioned the state as a national leader in manufacturing. However, this growth also introduces complex industrial hazards, with the potential to impact lives, assets, and the environment.
