The Gujarat Institute of Disaster Management (GIDM) is registered as an autonomous society under the Government of Gujarat. The Institute has been entrusted with the responsibility of human resource development, capacity building, training, research and documentation in the field of Disaster Management. GIDM has received approval from DISH under Section 111-A (ii) of the Factories Act, 1948.

Gujarat, one of India's most industrialized states, has witnessed rapid growth in the chemical industry, leading to an increased risk of chemical accidents. Ensuring the safe management of hazardous chemicals is critical to protecting workers, surrounding communities, and the environment. Enhancing the knowledge and skills of industry professionals involved in the storage, handling, and transportation of hazardous chemicals is essential for minimizing risks and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
The 'Safeguarding and Effective Management of Hazardous Chemicals in Industries' program is designed to address these challenges by providing comprehensive guidance on chemical hazard management, risk mitigation, and best practices to enhance industrial safety.
The 'Safeguarding Hazards and Effective Management of Hazardous Chemicals in Industries' training program aims to assist industries in preventing and controlling chemical accidents. It intends to provide guidance on identifying major chemical accident hazards, ultimately enhancing the overall safety performance of industries.
