Gujarat, located in western India, is recognized as one of the most industrialized states in the country. The rapid growth of the chemical industry in Gujarat has led to an increased risk of chemical accidents and incidents. Ensuring workplace and process safety in chemical industrial installations is paramount to safeguarding the health and well-being of employees, protecting the environment, and preventing accidents that could have far-reaching consequences. Chemical industries inherently involve risks associated with hazardous substances, high-pressure equipment, and complex processes. Therefore, building capacity in workplace and process safety is crucial to mitigate these risks effectively.
GIDM is collaborating with BDMA and PI Foundation Trust to organize this capacity-building program titled 'Workplace and Process Safety in Chemical Industrial Installations' This program represents a pivotal step in the assessment and mitigation of risk associated with Chemical Industrial Installations enabling effective responses to chemical emergencies.
The ‘Workplace and Process Safety in Chemical Industrial Installations' training program aims to assist industries in preventing and controlling chemical accidents. It intends to provide guidance on identifying major chemical accident hazards, ultimately enhancing the overall safety performance of industries.
