Two days residential training program on understanding national & international agenda towards disaster resilient sustainable development was organized during 17th to 18th January 2020.

OBJECTIVES

  • Empower the participants from the various departments of the Government to understand the social, ecological, and economic dimensions of exposure and vulnerability.
  • Help participants to understand the necessity of development plans and strategies to be DRR approach inclusive with focus on inclusion and equality to effective promote whole of society resilience
  • Help the participants to understand the necessity and establish coherence amongst national and local sustainable plans, climate change adaptation plans, and disaster risk reduction strategies and plans and stimulates such strategies at their own operation level.
  • Empower participants to understand the need of mainstreamed, cross sectoral approach of disaster resilient sustainable development to foster the state towards risk-informed

LEARNING

  • Developed an understanding of the different frameworks, agendas and agreements that governs the global progress towards disaster resilient sustainable development.
  • The idea was to invite decision makers from all the departments of the government, stimulate them to think along the lines of disaster resilient sustainable development, let them share their experiences and hurdles on a common platform and go back with an aim to embark on a journey of themselves becoming drivers of risk-informed development.
