The Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) is destined to grow as a model security educational University in India. Its endeavours focus on highly professional security, strategic and defence education, research, training through its qualified civilian and military faculty, committed human resources, motivated participants and students, intellectually stimulating and professional disciplined environment, and worldwide network, sharing, and exchange. It aims at providing security and strategic education in contemporary and futuristic security and strategic studies and interdisciplinary areas. The University contributes to the vision of India of Peace, Prosperous and Stable World in alliance with grand strategic cooperation between like-minded nations and promoting greater understanding between senior military officers, diplomats, civil servants, and civilians to promote the cause of the Nation.
It adopts a two-tier approach, at the national and international levels, in its education, research training, and extension to achieve capabilities to respond to the needs, expectations, and aspirations of the security and strategic institutions and forces as well as law-making, governance, judiciary, economy (agriculture- manufacturing-service sectors) and the civil society organizations.
The School works towards SMART Policing at large and strives to provide students/officials with a blend of theory and practical aspects of Policing. The School has a rich pool of experienced faculty members and experts of internal security including those who have served with distinction in the Centre Police, State Police and Corporate Industry. The School of Internal Security and Police Administration offers various Academic and Research programme i.e. Ph.D. in Police Administration; M.A. in Police Administration & Strategic Management (MAPA&SM); Post Graduate Diploma in Police Science and Management (PGDIPSM); Post Graduate Diploma in Police Administration (PGDPA); Bachelor of Arts in Security Management (BASM) & Diploma in Police Science (DIPS). Field visits, internships with major police and security organizations are a regular feature of the school. In addition, seminars, special lectures and regular interaction with practitioners from all domains of internal security are facilitated by the school.
In addition, the School has five dedicated Centres namely Centre for Border Management and Intelligence Studies(CBMIS); Center for Counter Insurgency and Counter Terrorism (CCICT); Centre for Disaster Risk Reduction (CDRR); Centre for Traffic Management and Road Safety(CTMRS) and Centre for Women in Police and Security Services(CWPSS)
The Gujarat Institute of Disaster Management (GIDM) is registered as an autonomous society under the Government of Gujarat. The Institute has been entrusted with the responsibility of human resource development, capacity building, training, research and documentation in the field of Disaster Risk Management. As per the GIDM’s objectives and mandates, it focuses on enriching the capacities – in specific areas of prevention, mitigation, preparedness, relief, recovery, rehabilitation, reconstruction and sustainable development - of the officials and other functionaries of the state and district administration for response to emergencies and in the longer run, it will take up similar capacity building for other stakeholders in the country.
Positioned as a Center of Excellence (CoE), GIDM has committed itself to development and application of information, research and technology for the safety of life, property and socio-economic processes in Disaster Management. It is thus also mandated to partner with national and international organizations, universities, institutions, bodies and individuals specialized in Disaster Management.

Therefore, there is an urgent need for individuals and professionals to gain a comprehensive understanding of disaster management and its nexus with national security. The course will be conducted in a hybrid mode with Two (02) weeks of Contact classes followed by Ten (10) Weeks of Online education and capped by once again, Two weeks (02) of Contact classes including Examination. Methodology of teaching will be combination of Lectures, Discussions, Practical exercises, Case Studies and Field exposure during the contact period. Participants will have access to relevant literature and resources, both online and offline, to support their learning.
