About GIDM

The Gujarat Institute of Disaster Management (GIDM) is registered as an autonomous society under the Government of Gujarat. The Institute has been entrusted with the responsibility of human resource development, capacity building, training, research and documentation in the field of Disaster Management.

Why Build the Capacity ?

The industrial and developmental landscape of Gujarat encompasses a broad spectrum of projects, ranging from chemical manufacturing units, power plants, ports, and urban infrastructure development to renewable energy projects and agriculture initiatives. Concurrently, the mining sector is undergoing significant expansion. While these endeavours promise economic growth and employment prospects, they also harbour the potential for substantial environmental repercussions, impacting facets such as air quality, water resources, noise pollution, land use, biodiversity, and community welfare.

Upholding top environmental standards requires expertise. The "Navigating Environmental Impact Assessment and Clearance Processes" program caters to Gujarat's EIA and Environmental Clearance professionals, preparing them to lead regional and national EIA efforts. It addresses evolving needs, from newcomers to seasoned experts, and explores future EIA practices and areas of concern.
